GERHARD HABERLER Sr. February 24, 1946 - April 23, 2005 Gerhard Haberler, beloved husband of Gretl, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre. Gerhard will always be remembered for the incredible passion in his work, he loved to create, invent, design and build a place for family enjoyment and friendship. He has spent the past two decades tirelessly working to see his visions come to life. He will be remembered with a smile by everyone he came to know. We will all miss his Ya, Hello at the other end of the phone, the surprise calls at any hour of the day or night to discuss a new idea. A generous, trusting man who always had the time to talk, Gerhard will live on in the memories we all have of him and in the body of work he leaves behind. He was always on the go; his recent trip to Austria gave him the opportunity to visit with relatives and old friends one last time. His incredible strength of mind brought him back to Canada to spend his final days at home with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the ICU Health Sciences Centre for the kindness and care that my husband and our father received. Always remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Gretl; children, Sabine (Brett), Gerhard (Sharon) and Claudia; grandchildren, Nicole, Morgan and Kim (Tony). Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held Friday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that when renewing your driver's license that you sign your organ donor card. Many of us do not realize the urgency until the loss of someone we love. Arrangements are entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca

  • Gerhard was a caring, sensitive man who had a great passion for his work, and for people. Our lives will forever be touched. We are so thankful to God that Gerhard had the opportunity to accept Jesus as his personal Savior within the past 2 years. Today, Gerhard is in Heaven with his creator, and we know that his desire for each of you, his family, friends and co-workers, was that you would know the same Jesus that he appreciated the last years of his life. Gerhard, we miss you, and we look forward to meeting you in Heaven! - Posted by: Sam Berg (Friend) on: Apr 29, 2005
